We are wired for connection.
There is no road map for living - I know because I've looked for one. Instead, we have each other to navigate the complexities of being human: as children, friends, partners, parents, workers, and so much more.
My approach to care combines a genuine love of people with training rooted in authenticity, curiosity, empathy, humor, and deep listening. I hold, but am not limited by, a special interest in working with those going through life’s transitions including kids, teens, and young adults. I also work with challenges such as anxiety, depression, a sense of stuckness, loneliness, past trauma, and/or loss. My life experiences navigating the realities of parenting, partnership, career, aging, and what it is to live in this modern world, inform my work.
I am working as an intern under the supervision of Paula Witt while completing my master's degree in counseling at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's Clinical Mental Health graduate program. In 2022, I completed 800 hours of training in Clinical Pastoral Education and work part-time at UnityPoint-Meriter hospital providing spiritual care to patients, families and staff. I find joy spending time with friends and family and wandering in the fields and woods.
As part of our internship program, there will be a licensed therapist who works alongside the therapist in training. The graduate intern has already had experience providing psychotherapy and the purpose of the internship is to truly allow them to grow within themselves as a therapist and gain additional competency in therapy skills. We have a licensed therapist that will be present for some or all sessions either in person or virtually.
